Personal relationship with God
Genesis 17:1-7
God's covenant promise to Abraham didn't just happen by self interests, well wishing and self motives that Abraham had within his heart but it came as a result of personal relationship Abraham had with God.
God found an evidence with Abraham that He couldn't do away with him because he had built an intimacy with Him,
At one point, Abraham narrated with God just as friend can converse with a a friend about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and God was willing to spare this city on an account of one man's prayer
The God's Covenant promise to Abraham and Isaac was offered to Jacob as well
But it was not enough Jacob to be Abraham's groundson, Jacob had to establish his own personal relationship God
Each person must have a personal relationship with God, it's not enough hear wonderful stories about men and women of God who have walked and served God mightly ( God's Generals)
What matters importantly, you need to build your personal relationship with God so that you become part of the story
Note, God will always be personal basing on the relationship built with Him neither a God of groups, that's why we always pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob*Yet many people lived in those days but we pray to the God of three people only
Build a relationship with Him ,which can make Him to be your God
