WHO AM I FOR Really?
If you don’t answer that question, you live a life that is out of your purpose so you try to do things but they don’t satisfy you because you are not answering the question.
Theme scripture Luke 10:30- 37
The scripture has three characters – the priest, Levitt and the Good Samaritan.
These three people experienced the same problem; they all met the same person.
What was the problem in this text, there was someone who had fallen into thieves and was beaten. And the bible says that this person was beaten and didn’t die.
Here are the three people that represent me and you (church) in other words we are one of those who came and found this man.
The same problem, but the reaction was different, the bible says first of all that this man found the problem on his way, whom he was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and he fallen among the robbers, they beaten him and they went away leaving him half dead.
In the old days, Jerusalem was a place of worship and Jericho was a place of dwelling leisure. And therefore this man was traveling from Jerusalem (God’s city) to Jericho (Devils’ city) . In other words he was traveling from the presence of God to the place of pleasure and the bibles says, 'along the way he faced problems.'
In life, we are always travelling from somewhere to somewhere, so like this man, the question is, where are you leaving from? And where are you going?
This man was leaving where God is and he was going to the city where he can mean business of his own i.e. he was going to the place where he can control himself. And the bible says “that along the way, he found thieves “ listen to me, I have found many people who were believers and they choose to move from church and go outside church, and life has never been good for them.
I have seen married people who choose to leave families and they live their own independent life and life has never been good for them.
I have seen people who have backslide, who left church and went back into the world but life had never been good for them. It is not to move from Jerusalem to Jericho, if you find thieves on the way, like this man found them, you can die from there.
I want to encourage, you stay in Jerusalem, stay in the presence of God, remain church. No matter the situation, would be never leave the presence of God you may be suffering today, you may be lacking but because you are where God is, he protections are always are around you.
The reason why this man was beaten on the street by the thieves, the moment left Jerusalem, God’s protections was out of him. So he started moving along, and when he found robbers, they would stir him.
The Bible says” then came a Good Samaritan. This person was neither a Levite, nor a priest but he had a good heart.
On Top of your prayer, fasting, singing coming to church, also have a good heart.
